The Great Books Discussion Group will meet on Thursday, February 13, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 15 of the preschool and features discussion on two selections:  Edward Fitzgerald’s (1809-1883): The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám and Robert Browning’s (1812-1889): Rabbi Ben Ezra. These two poems, both dealing with 12th century sources, represent distinctly opposing views of dealing with faith and doubt. Subsequent meetings will be held monthly with selections from the Great Books Foundation series. Contact Patrick Carey at 770-241-2511 for further information.

Ministry Description
The goal of this lively discussion group is to engage the intellect and imagination through shared inquiry about provocative literature. The Great Books Foundation in Chicago compiles the selections. Challenge and broaden your thinking as the group probes deeply into characters and ideas. Members are required to read the selections prior to the meetings and come prepared to answer interpretive questions. The Great Books Discussion Group meets from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month between September and May.
