Gift of Grace Home
Category: Community Outreach
Description:
The Gift of Grace Ministry is in charge of providing food (uncooked) and drinks for the residents of the Gift of Grace Home, a home for women with AIDS, which is operated by the Missionaries of Charity. The Missionaries of Charity is the order founded by Mother Teresa, and The Gift of Grace Home is one of their over 120 centers throughout the world where they serve the poor, homeless and suffering.
Volunteers bring donated items (meat, vegetables, fruit, starch, bread, cookies, corn muffin mix, soda and juice) to the Parish Office (refrigerator in the lower level) on the 1st Monday of the month. The food and drinks can also be delivered after Mass on Sunday. Volunteers may also choose to transport the food / drinks from the Parish Office to the Gift of Grace in Virginia Highlands. SignUp Genius links are sent by email and used for volunteers to sign up for items.
The Gift of Grace Home Ministry is a wonderful outreach Ministry where volunteers can truly make a difference in the lives of women suffering from AIDS right here in Atlanta. Transporting the food is also a hands on way to volunteer as a family.
Parishioners who are interested in driving should contact Kate Allen Cotterman at kallen@hsccatl.com regarding necessary paperwork and safe environment requirements.
