The Archdiocese of Atlanta requires a two-year Confirmation process for any student wishing to receive the sacrament.
To receive the Sacrament of Confirmation, Holy Spirit requires all students in grades 9, 10, or 11 to enroll in a two (2) year program of Confirmation preparation. The grade in which a teen begins attending the program will be his or her Year 1. He or she will then need to enroll in one additional year to be confirmed the following spring. That will be considered Year 2 of their Confirmation preparation.*
*Please note that students must be enrolled in either Catholic School or Youth Ministry for two (2) years prior to receiving Confirmation. Students enrolled in Phoenix (the Holy Spirit youth group) must attend at least 80 percent of the scheduled youth events for both years to be eligible.
Students are welcome and encouraged to continue attending Phoenix youth nights after receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.

Our two Confirmation Retreats are
(attendance at one is required)
October 25-26, 2025 at LifeTeen Camp Hidden Lake, Dahlonega, GA (Overnight Retreat)
January 24-25, 2026 at HSCC (2 Day Retreat - Teens must attend both days)

What do you need to do to get Confirmed at HSCC?
1. Be a registered Holy Spirit parishioner (Register online); if you are registered at another parish, submit a Pastoral Consent Letter from your parish
2. Submit Baptismal Certificate if not baptized at Holy Spirit
3. Register for Phoenix and Confirmation Preparation
4. A minimum of 80% attendance required for Phoenix youth nights in both years of Confirmation Preparation*
5. Attend one of the two Confirmation Orientation Meetings (listed above)
6. Participate in an approved Service Project at HSCC
7. Attend an approved Confirmation Retreat
8. Attend an individual meeting with the Pastor, Fr. Luke Ballman.
9. Pick a Confirmation Saint Name (Deadline: January 31, 2026)
10. Pick a Confirmation Sponsor (Deadline: January 31, 2026)
11. Fill out & return a Confirmation Sponsor Form (Deadline: January 31, 2026)

Although students do not need to attend Phoenix regularly, we highly encourage you to join us!
