This year’s first meeting of the Great Books Discussion Group will be held on Thursday, September 12th, and
features Iris Murdoch’s (1919-1999) The Bell. A major theme in the novel, set in a monastery in modern England, is the search for a spiritual life in a materialist world. Subsequent meetings will be held monthly with selections from the Great Books Foundation series.
