Dear Parishioners,

Effective Tuesday, March 17, the Archdiocese has suspended all public Masses through Palm Sunday, April 4-5. This is ALL Masses – weekday and weekend. Priests will continue to offer private Masses. We will live stream Monsignor’s private Mass at 8.30 a.m. each weekday and at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. There will be no congregation. Directions on accessing the live stream will be posted on the website later today.

Unless otherwise indicated, assume that all events and gatherings at the parish are cancelled.

The Archdiocesan website has a list of spiritual resources and a list of Masses offered online. These Masses are private and the faithful should only participate online.

Adoration
Our Church will remain open for private prayer 24 hours a day. This will be adoration as distinct from exposition as the Blessed Sacrament will NOT be in the monstrance. We encourage you to come any time day or night.  Please keep your distance from others – at least 4 feet from those who are not family. Do not come if you are not feeling well, or if coming will put you at risk of becoming sick. We will observe the President’s call for no more than 10 people in this gathering at any given time.

Confessions

Our penance service on April 8th is cancelled. We can hear individual confessions by appointment, and you can come as usual on Sunday morning between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Although not an individual appointment, that time slot will be treated as if it were. Confessions will be held in the Church. Please sit at least 4 feet apart as you wait. We will not have confessions on Saturday.

Other Events

Weddings, baptisms, Quinceañeras, and funerals will be limited to immediate family only - no exceptions. No receptions will be held in parish facilities.

Because of the lead time required, we will cancel the Seder Supper during Holy Week.

Confirmations for the parish and school are postponed until later in the Summer

All religious education/adult faith formation is suspended. You can access adult programs on the web. Closer to Holy Week, we will make a decision about how to take care of those who are in the RCIA program. It may have to involve brief ceremonies for each individual.

This is an opportunity to live the basic principle of the gospel in a practical way. Take care of one another. Don’t take a cavalier attitude to it (“I’m not worried about it.”). Do the practical things – wash your hands, keep a distance, don’t watch more than one news broadcast a day – it will only get you more nervous.  We can unite in prayer. We can help our families, neighbors and friends.
