Archbishop Hartmayer will celebrate an archdiocesan-wide Mass with the Anointing of the Sick on Saturday, January 11, at 10:00 AM in the Church. A reception will follow in McDonough Hall. The Mass and reception are sponsored by the Order of Malta. The anointing of the sick can be administered to a member of the faithful who, having reached the use of reason, begins to be in danger due to sickness or old age. This sacrament can be repeated if the sick person, having recovered, again becomes gravely ill or if the condition becomes more grave during the same illness. Typically, the sacrament can be repeated annually for those in old age.
