Special Guest at the 11:30 AM Mass on May 18: Come Meet the Friends of the Catholic University of Congo
We are honored to announce that His Excellency, Donatien Bafuidinsoni, SJ, Bishop of Inongo, Congo (Dem. Rep.), will join us for the 11:30 AM Mass on Sunday, May 18, to speak about an extraordinary mission of faith, education, and healing.

The Catholic University of Congo (CUC), founded in 1957, is committed to building a just and equitable society rooted in faith, hope, and charity. Its newest endeavor—the Medical School Initiative—is training the next generation of doctors to serve the people of the Democratic Republic of Congo, especially the poor and underserved. Friends of CUC, Inc. (FoCUC) is an Atlanta-based nonprofit of global supporters working to empower this vital mission (www.friendsofcuc.org). Parishioners David Denning and Chris Hooper founded FoCUC in 2021. David serves as Executive Director and Chris serves as Treasurer. FoCUC is a registered 501(c)3 organization and is GuideStar rated.

Thanks to prayers and financial generosity, CUC's medical school is already training 200 new students annually and equipping them with cutting-edge tools like virtual dissection tables and blood analyzers.

After Mass, volunteers from FoCUC will be in the Narthex to share more about this inspiring project and how you can get involved— whether by sharing your time, talents, or treasure. Let’s come together in support of faith-driven education and healthcare in the heart of Africa.
