Making a Spiritual Communion
When we are unable to receive the Eucharist at Mass, the Church encourages us to make an act of "spiritual communion,"
where we unite ourselves to God through prayer. There are many prayers you can offer during your spiritual communion.
Here's one prayer:
My Jesus,
I believe that You are present in the Most Holy
Sacrament. I love You above all things, and I desire
to receive You into my soul. Since I cannot at this
moment receive You sacramentally, come at least
spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You
were already there and unite myself wholly to You.
Never permit me to be separated from You.
Amen.
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil;
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray; And do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, cast into hell
Satan and all evil spirits who prowl throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.
