Second Collections

Black and Indian Missions works to build the Church and preach the Gospel of Jesus among the African American, Native American, and Alaska Native people of God. When you donate, you contribute to our archdiocese’s efforts to support parish life and catechists, empowering evangelizers, and encouraging vocations for this community in our church.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) works to be a voice of hope for those on the margins of society who experience the realities of living in poverty. This collection supports programs that empower people to identify and address obstacles they face in bringing permanent and positive changes to their communities.

For over 65 years, Catholic Charities Atlanta has served the poor and vulnerable on behalf of the Atlanta Catholic community with the core mission to raise individuals and families out of poverty once and for all, regardless of a client’s background or religion.

Through websites, social networks, television, radio, and print, the Catholic Communication Campaign (CCC) helps the Church spread the Gospel message through the media locally and nationally. Half of all donations to the CCC collected in your diocese stay in your diocese to support your local communications needs, such as radio and television programming and diocesan publications.

Home mission dioceses are those Catholic dioceses in the United States, its territories, and former territories that cannot provide basic pastoral services without outside help. Basic pastoral services include Mass, the sacraments, religious education, and ministry training for priests, deacons, religious sisters, and laypeople. Nearly 40% of dioceses in the United States and its territories are considered home missions.

Every year, the Archbishop receives requests for financial assistance from dioceses in developing countries and from religious orders of men and women serving throughout the world. The Archbishop chooses several of these worthy requests from around the world to receive financial assistance.

The Catholic Relief Services Collection supports Catholic Church organizations that carry out international relief and solidarity efforts. Programs include relief and resettlement for victims of persecution, war, and natural disasters; development projects to improve living conditions for the poor; legal and support services for poor immigrants; peace and reconciliation work for people suffering from violence; and advocacy on behalf of the powerless.

By giving to the collection, you are supporting future Catholic leaders, both religious and lay, who are being formed by an exceptional, faith-rooted education and the university’s various research and training initiatives that support dioceses and parishes in responding to the most pressing needs of their faithful.

Christ Child Society of Atlanta is a non-profit organization serving underprivileged children in the Atlanta area. Funds donated support outreach programs focusing on literacy, as well as infant and child care. CCSA offers summer skills enrichment programs to the students at St. Peter Claver Regional Catholic School, Our Lady of Victory School and Bright Futures Academy at City of Refuge. Providing community bookshelves in area clinics, layettes with newborn essentials for needy mothers, nurturing infants at Grady Hospital, and a multi-sensory playground and garden for students at the Elaine Clark Center are just a few of their outreach programs.

Our parish monthly Collection "For the Poor" supports individuals and families in our parish catchment area through the dedicated services of Holy Spirit's conference of St. Vincent de Paul, the Community Assistance Center of Sandy Springs, and Project Independence.

The help we provide to our Hispanic brothers and sisters is accompanied by pastoral services such as religious education, evangelization programs, the sacraments and the Eucharist in their language and culture for their spiritual support and integration into parish life.

Holy Family Hospital, a state-of-the-art maternity and neonatal critical care center serving poor and at-risk women, infants, and children just 1,500 steps from the birthplace of Christ. The Hospital is a beacon of hope for families in the Bethlehem region and is the only hospital in the region that can care for and deliver babies under 32 weeks, where some preemies can weigh as little as a pound. Holy Family Hospital delivers almost 5,000 babies every year. The Hospital is an oasis of peace and serves 40,000 women each year through the main hospital and the clinics in refugee camps in the Judean Desert.

The Holy Land Franciscans serve in the land made holy by the life, suffering, death, and resurrection of Jesus. With your support, the Holy Land Franciscans will continue to nourish Christians in the Holy Land with presence, care, and service.

Archbishop Gregory J. Hartmayer, OFM Conv., has approved a special second collection to support Catholic Relief Services in bringing urgent aid to families in Gaza. Our brothers and sisters there face severe shortages of food, water, shelter, and medical care. Through this collection, we can extend Christ’s love by helping families meet their basic needs and find hope amid suffering. Your generosity will bring comfort and relief. Please also keep all who are suffering in your prayers.

This second collection is a combination of three second collections: World Missions, the Church in Latin America and the Church in Central and Eastern Europe. Our offerings will support the work and witness of those who selflessly give up all for the sake of our Lord and his Gospel — the local priests, religious and lay catechists who daily provide loving service to the poor and suffering.

Your support helps the Peter's Pence campaign uplift our brothers and sisters on the margins of society, including victims of war, oppression and disasters. Through the Peter’s Pence collection, we can support the charitable works of Pope Leo XIV and our Universal Church.

Pregnancy Aid Clinic is the only Catholic pregnancy resource center endorsed by the Archdiocese of Atlanta. PAC offers women free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, education, resources, and earn-as-you-learn programs.

Elderly religious need your help. Thousands of senior sisters, brothers and religious order priests have served for years—educating the young, comforting the sick and ministering to the less fortunate. Many religious communities do not have enough retirement savings and struggle to provide for aging members. Your gift to the Retirement Fund for the Religious collection helps provide medications, nursing care, and more.

We serve our neighbors in need in 30327 and 30342 with financial, material, educational, and spiritual support—offered with dignity, compassion, and without regard to background or faith. We also partner with other organizations to help neighbors move toward stability and self-sufficiency.

Walking with Moms in Need is a nationwide, parish-based initiative to increase support for pregnant and parenting mothers in need. It works to ensure that any woman who finds herself unexpectedly pregnant, or parenting in difficult circumstances, can turn to her local Catholic Church and be connected with the resources she needs. At Holy Spriit, volunteers walk with moms throughout the motherhood journey, offering them authentic Christian friendship and ongoing support. Donations go to help support this program at the local level.
