Dear Parish Family,
Our Catholic faith calls us not only to uphold the dignity of life, but to walk closely with those who are most vulnerable. I am grateful to share an update as Holy Spirit Catholic Church prepares to launch Marillac Moms, a new parishwide ministry supporting a pregnant mother and her children who are experiencing homelessness.
Through Marillac Moms, Holy Spirit is partnering with St. Vincent de Paul Georgia to provide safe housing and stabilizing support for a mother in crisis. Inspired by the witness of St. Louise de Marillac, this ministry helps mothers welcome their children and work toward a stable, hope-filled future.
Marillac Moms is truly a parishwide effort—bringing together our St. Vincent de Paul Conference, Walking with Moms in Need, Knights of Columbus and other parish ministries and volunteers—one community supporting life, loving our neighbors, and living the Gospel together.
Thanks to the generosity of a Holy Spirit parishioner, our parish is able to sponsor this home.
I am pleased to share that St. Vincent de Paul Georgia has secured a two-bedroom apartment at Walton on the Chattahoochee, and
we are preparing to welcome a family into this home with an anticipated move-in date of February 7. St. Vincent de Paul Georgia is providing the larger furnishings, and
our parish family’s help is now needed to prepare the apartment with everyday household essentials, hygiene supplies, and baby items before move-in. You can help right away by donating through this
Amazon Wish List.
St. Vincent de Paul Georgia will manage the housing and program support, while Holy Spirit provides volunteers, prayer, and accompaniment—surrounding this mother and her children with care, dignity, and community.
I ask you to please keep this mother and her children in your prayers as we prepare to welcome them. I also invite you to consider how God may be calling you to be part of this ministry—through generosity, service, encouragement, or prayer.
Please watch the bulletin and visit

Thank you for living your faith in such a beautiful and concrete way. Together, as one parish family, we truly are Part of Something Greater.
With gratitude,
Father Luke Ballman
