Relics of St. Pio of Pietrelcina at Holy Spirit

Holy Spirit is pleased to host the relics of St. Pio of Pietrelcina (affectionately known as "Padre Pio") through the generosity of the Saint Pio Foundation

 

Thursday, September 30, 2021 | 9:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Mass in Honor of St. Pio | 7:00 p.m.

 

Information for Pilgrims

  • Upon arrival at Holy Spirit, Pilgrims will gather in McDonough Hall (the parish hall) to learn about the life of St. Pio before walking to the Church to venerate his relics.
  • Limited supplies of devotional items will be available for sale on September 30th while supplies last.
  • Veneration ends at 6:30 p.m. There will NOT be veneration during or after the Mass in honor of St. Pio which begins at 7:00 p.m.
  • Confessions will be heard throughout the day
  • A free-will offering to support the works of the St. Pio Foundation will be collected.

 

About the Relics

What are relics and why do we venerate them?

 

Reliquaries containing the following items will be available for veneration:

  • cotton gauze with St. Pio's blood stains
  • crusts of the wounds of St. Pio's stigmata
  • St. Pio's handkerchief soaked with his sweat
  • a lock of St. Pio's hair
  • a piece of St. Pio's mantle
