I am not afraid. I was born for this.

St. Joan of Arc

This Fall, you are invited to dive into the life-changing message at the heart of the Gospel. Please join us on this eight-week journey with The Rescue Project.

Why Rescue?

We believe that the most urgent task is the compelling proclamation of the Gospel, one that not only shares it in an attractive – and concentrated – way, but that also offers people a way of seeing reality, and of making sense of the world, history, and life that is vastly different from the story our modern culture tells.

Until this happens, the Christian faith is often experienced as a mere set of rules and disciplines, and simply going to Church isn’t likely to lead a person to embark on the great adventure that is following Jesus and continuing His mission of this world.

Who is it for?

The Rescue Project is for anyone and everyone! It appeals to those who have been walking with Jesus for years, as well as those for whom Jesus is only a figure in ancient history.

What is it?

Simply put, an experience of the Gospel surrounded by food, conversation and prayer. The Rescue Project seeks to proclaim the Gospel in a compelling and attractive way over eight weeks in a small group format. This experience is imbued with beauty, authentic humanity, and accompaniment.

Volunteer Team

Help us make Rescue a great experience for everyone! We have several volunteer opportunities for you:

  • Hospitality Team: play a vital role in preparing the meeting space, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone. Each session involves the preparation and service of refreshments.
  • Table Host: contribute to a positive small group experience by facilitating conversations and being a familiar presence. While not experts, table hosts are caring and pastoral, ensuring a welcoming environment for all participants.
  • Prayer Team: members of the prayer team cover the team and guests in prayer throughout the entire session. They are available to pray with guests should the need arise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why Rescue Project?

  • An opportunity for renewal.
  • Makes the gospel repeatable and accessible: Created, Captured, Rescued, Response.
  • Calls out the enemy, the one and only enemy of the entire human race, the one Jesus calls “the ruler of this world.”
  • Proposes an image of Jesus that is more than just kin, but also utterly unconquerable.
  • Integrates and untangles the Sacraments in the context of the Gospel.
  • Clarifies the mission of Jesus and of His disciples.
  • Is rooted in early Church preaching.

What does a Rescue gathering look like?
Rescue starts off with food and hospitality, followed by a dynamic video presentation. The experience also includes a group discussion at tables, where the presentation can be broken open and made more personal. There are also times for prayer and worship. It’s a great opportunity to grow in your faith and meet other people.

What is the Retreat Day?

The retreat is the summit of The Rescue Project. This is the occasion to ask the Holy Spirit to powerfully renew our understanding of what Jesus has done for us and mobilize us (for mission) with the conviction that we truly were born for this. And to give us the grace to be His love and spread His love in a way that we have never done before.

The day includes music, great food, building friendships, thought-provoking presentations, discussion opportunities, and specific times for prayer.

How long does Rescue last?

Rescue Project is an 8-week opportunity that includes a ½ -day retreat experience on a Saturday. The course meets for 8 weeks in a row.

Will Rescue Project be offered at other times?

Fall 2024 is our “pilot season” for Rescue. We are planning to offer Rescue Project several times in 2025.

Does it cost money?

Thankfully, we are able to offer Rescue Project at no cost to parishioners.

I'm married. Should I sit with my spouse?

Great question  – and it’s totally up to you! Some spouses like to sit together and go through the journey side by side. Other spouses have found a benefit from sitting separately and then sharing their experiences together away from the Rescue Project session.
