Dr. Gianna Molla Speaks Tonight - Don't Miss Out!

Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Holy Spirit Prep are pleased to host Dr. Gianna Emanuela Molla TONIGHT, Monday, November 6th, at 7:00 p.m. in McDonough. Dr. Molla was born on April 21, 1962, to St. Gianna Beretta Molla, an Italian wife, mother and pediatrician. Dr. Molla will speak about her "saint Mom," her family life, and her efforts with the St. Gianna Beretta Molla Foundation to honor, perpetuate and spread around the world the memory, testimony and spirituality of her mother, particularly the "Ponte Nuovo Project." Through this project, Dr. Molla hopes to restore the holy places of her mother's life, including the creation of an International Center of prayer, study and spirituality that will welcome pilgrims from all around the world.

Deepening Your Prayer Life

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.) Classes Forming

Would you or someone you know like to learn more about the Catholic faith and what Catholics profess to believe? Perhaps your spouse or fiancé would like to become Catholic? Maybe you were raised Catholic, but never received the sacrament of Confirmation? Or maybe you’ve drifted away from the Church and want to renew your connection to Catholicism by entering into full communion with the Church.

R.C.I.A. aims to address all the above situations. The class can be taken for information only and there is never any pressure to be confirmed, although participants are fully prepared for Baptism, Penance, Eucharist, and/or Confirmation if desired. We are now enrolling for the next session of R.C.I.A., which begins on January 7th and concludes on April 29. The class will meet on Sunday evenings from 6:45 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Due to our accelerated
curriculum, regular attendance is crucial, so participants need to commit to full participation in the course. Reception into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church occurs at the Easter Vigil on Saturday March 31st. A nominal fee of $35 is required to register for the course; this fee defrays the cost of books and other materials.

Prospective R.C.I.A. participants are strongly encouraged to begin gathering sacramental documents, including—if applicable—certificates of baptism and marriage. Personal interviews with participants are now being held; please contact Dr. David King to arrange an appointment. Please also note that the DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION IS DECEMBER 15th.

We look forward to seeing you in R.C.I.A. as you deepen your inquiry and journey into the Catholic faith. For more information, or to enroll, please contact our Director of Adult Education, Dr. David King.

Adult Education Presents Family, Become What You Are: The Importance of the Domestic Church

Join us Sunday mornings in McDonough Hall, Side B for Sunday morning Adult Education. Socializing begins at 9:30 a.m., followed by a presentation by Dr. David King from 10:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. This fall, we continue to focus on the family—the Domestic Church—and seeking to live more fully John Paul II’s exhortation that “Each family finds within itself a summons that cannot be ignored, and that specifies both its dignity and its responsibility:  family, become what you are.”

Parents of children in religious education, as well as parents of teens preparing for Confirmation, are especially encouraged to attend what will be a series of engaging and enlightening presentations on the family’s connection to the universal Church. Regardless of the stage of your own family — married with children, single or widowed, retired or empty-nesters, newlyweds—all participants will come to a greater understanding of the importance of family within the Body of Christ.

If parents require childcare in order to attend Adult Education, the church nursery is available for children ages 6 months through 3 years on the lower level (ground floor) of the church building.
